IMEM RECEIVES THE EFQM EXCELLENCE MODEL 400+ RECOGNITION

This achievement crowns three years of working on this model during which the company has progressively implemented this new management method in pursuit of business excellence. Since 1996, IMEM has been working with the ISO 9001 Quality Assurance System based on procedures, and this has made the leap to management by processes easier.

In 2004, IMEM began working with the EFQM model, and in early 2007, the company was awarded the bronze seal of recognition, the first and mandatory benchmark in its journey towards business excellence. From that moment on, the company’s top management clearly saw that this model was a useful and effective tool to improve all of the processes and activities involved in IMEM’s business activities, and decided to make a qualitative leap forward by setting itself the challenge of achieving the 400+ within a year, which it has just done.

A management team that includes Carlos García Del barrio, Finance Director, José María López-Vázquez, Sales Director, Félix De las Heras, Quality Manager, David López, Head of Industrial Organisation, Antonio Pérez Luzuriaga, Marketing Manager and Jesús Alonso, Director of the subsidiary company Global Lift Equipment (awarded the certification as well) was in charge of the implementation of the model in the company. The team was supported by the company’s Top Management and included two persons with law degrees, three physical science engineers and an industrial engineer demonstrates the cross-disciplinary approach taken by the company in implementing themodel.

The implementation of this model marks a revolution in management within the company and signals the adoption of a tool designed for continuous improvement and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of the ompany’s management: Leadership,Policy and Strategy, People, Alliances and Resources and Procedures.
